WeeklyByte #1: Destiny 2 Fixes

Before we get into the news, I would like to explain what we plan to do with this "series" and what we plan to cover in these articles.

What we plan to do with these is talk about the news that was most important to us each week, and do a quick run through on some smaller news. For example, this article is going to mainly be about the upcoming changes to Destiny 2, then some smaller news like upcoming releases and things we found interesting. However, if you want us to talk about something specific you can shoot us an email over on our Contact/Apply page (http://bytesizedgames.blogspot.com/p/contact.html) or contact us through our Twitter (https://twitter.com/ByteSizedBlog). Anyway, on with the news!

Destiny 2 and How Bungie Is Making an Effort to Fix it.
Since the initial release of Destiny 2 and the end of the "honeymoon" phase of the game, many of the games flaws have started to shine through, and fans were getting upset. After getting endless demands that the studio be more transparent and open about what is going on, and how they plan the change the game, Bungie cancelled its third and final stream about the upcoming DLC, Curse of Osiris.

Instead, they gave the community what they wanted, and made a blog post called "The State of Destiny 2." While there are a bunch of good announcements and changes within this post, a lot of them feel like backtracking what was already in the first game. One of the most notable things about the changes is the Masterworks system. It is a new version of legendary weapons that adds and extra stat and is rerollable. When I first read this, I thought it was a way to put randomized weapon rolls into the game, but sadly it is just stat changes and the reroll part is just for those stats.

Among other things, private matches, ranked crucible, and better faction rewards are some of the best things coming out of this, but I honestly don't know if these changes will bring back as many people as they hope.  Most of the people who played the game just played until they did everything then they dipped out, are most likely gone for good. Had these things been in the game from the start, players would have stuck around a little longer. Most of the "hardcore" players this way at the moment. Things that we liked in the first game, are gone in the second game. It feels like backtracking when you read these patch notes, as things like armor ornaments and private matches were already in Destiny 1. It feels like instead of Bungie using Destiny 1 as groundwork, they tried to reboot the whole series, and with that they forgot the little things that made the first game so memorable for many player.
